Aqui está um livro: "The House of Gold" (1929), do irlandês Liam O'Flaherty (Liam Ó Flaithearta; 28 Agosto 1896 – 7 Setembro 1984) vai ser reeditado, com a devida introdução do jornalista, poeta e romancista  Tomás Mac Síomóin, ao fim de 84 anos. O livro, que foi suprimido  pela censura irlandesa, foi considerado "indecente" e francamente obsceno. Autor reconhecido de contos e romances, O'Flaherty, rebelde e inquieto como todo o bom irlandês, viu o seu romance “The Informer” - vencedor do James tait Black Memorial Prize em 1925 - ser levado ao cinema pelo seu primo, John Ford, em 1935.

Liam O’Flaherty’s The House of Gold was suppressed by the Irish Censorship of Publications Board,  the year after its release in 1929, as it believed it fell into the category of being “indecent” or “obscene. A new release is expected with an introduction by novelist, poet and journalist Tomás Mac Síomóin.  In 1935, his novel The Informer  (for which he had been awarded the 1925 James Tait Black Memorial for fiction) was made into a film by John Ford.
